Elemental Ink Paintings

My Elemental Ink series is based on handmade inks derived from various chemical elements: copper, iron, and carbon. Some of the inks take several weeks to make. Applying them in an abstract fashion onto watercolour paper, the solutions are allowed to interact together. The inks take a long time to dry so the various interactions between the different ink continues for many hours. The results are always serendipitous. 23ct gold leaf has then been added to create the final images.

These works are sold mounted but unframed. They are of a chemical nature and should be handled carefully. Please keep in the plastic sleeve until framed to prevent dislodging of any crystals and pigment from the surface.
